Today, during a special meeting, the Board of Trustees approved the appointment of Jeff Daugherty as the Assistant Superintendent of Operational Services.
Jeff will oversee the operational operations of the school district including transportation, facilities and maintenance, food service, human resources, and finance.
Board Chair, Patricia Russell stated, "I have known Jeff since 2011 and worked with him during his tenure as Teton County Planning Director. I am excited to welcome Jeff to the district. His experience in local government and the private sector will be an invaluable addition to our district in the area of operational services." For the last two years Mr. Daugherty has served as the Area Manager for First American Title where he supervised staff, oversaw branding and marketing, strategic plans, and budgeting. Previous experience includes serving as the Teton County Planning Director and the Salt Lake County Planning and Development Director.
Superintendent Gillian Chapman commented, "Jeff brings a tremendous amount of community experience and knowledge to the district that will help us move forward with some important efforts including reconfiguring Jackson and Colter Elementary to Kindergarten through Fifth grade schools, constructing Munger Mountain Elementary School, and exploring how to address anticipated state budget cuts.
In accepting the position Jeff commented, "My family and I are invested in this community. My kids attend three different schools in the district. We moved here several years ago because of the quality of the public schools and I have have been impressed with the district's efforts toward continuous improvement. I intend to arrive at the district offices every day with a relentless commitment to building upon past successes. I look forward to working with district staff, parents and the community"
Jeff Daugherty will join TCSD #1 on November 1, 2016.
