Dear Community Members, Welcome to the 2012-2013 school year. We have been working all summer in preparation and anticipation of the beginning of another great school year. We welcome those families who are new to our district as well as our returning students and their families. We invite all of you to become active members of the Teton County School Distict 1 community. Now, more than ever, education plays a vital role in our nation’s competitive edge. Student academic achievement is paramount, as well as the unique skill sets needed in our highly technological society. Each of our 2300 students’ success is our mission. We are proud of the comprehensive programs we have put in place and are reaping the benefits of our successes in student engagement, both academic and social/emotional. Wyoming continues to place high quality education as a major state priority and has provided stable funding for its K-12 public education system. As a result of our competitive salary schedule and benefits, we are able to attract and retain excellent teachers and staff. We have outstanding people who are a tremendous asset to our community and deeply committed to the success of our students. Teton County's academic performance results continue to be strong as student assessment data will reflect in the, soon to be released, District Report Card. We are experiencing how effective we can be when everyone in our district, from administrators to teachers, secretaries to bus drivers, are all working toward a common goal of continuous improvement. We are fortunate to live and work in a community that values education and recognizes the importance of investing in our most valuable asset, our children. We will continue to work towards the performance measures embedded in our strategic plan as we move forward into the 2012-2013 school year, which ensures academic excellence, rigor, and 21st Century skills for every student in Teton County Schools.
