Welcome to the 5th Grade!
I am looking forward to a wonderful year with your child. For those of you who don’t know me, my name is Nancy Shibuya. This will be my 35th year of teaching and my 28th here in Teton County. I have been married to my husband Steve, for 34 years. We have a son Tim, who lives in the state of Washington with his fiance Bianca and their dog Yoda!
As you may have heard, I have high expectations for all students in my class. It is always so rewarding to see them strive for and reach attainable goals. I encourage you to talk with your child about school and what we are doing in class. This year will be very different than others. Your child will work hard at becoming an independent student. That means, no more phone calls to you if they forget something at home! This will be a year in which they learn to be responsible for themselves…a trait that will help them greatly as they move to the Middle School next year.
I am looking forward to seeing all of the kids on September 3rd. The bell will ring at 8:10 a.m. and learning begins at 8:15 a.m. This is a NEW start time for school, so please plan accordingly.
