My name is Hannah Lane, and I am the School Counselor/Social Worker for Colter Elementary School. I have a Bachelor of Arts in Social Work from Auburn University and a Master of Social Work from the University of Wyoming along with a School Social Work Certificate. I love to work with children and families and believe that schools are one of the best places to seek out and provide services and support. I’m looking forward to providing ideas, inspiration, and resources to help students grow socially, academically, and emotionally.
In my free time, I enjoy yoga, hiking, fishing, skiing, cooking, reading, and hanging out with my dog, Bowdie.
As a School Counselor/School Social Worker, my primary responsibility is to promote the academic and social-emotional development of all students. Children may face difficulties, which can prevent them from doing their best in school. These difficulties can include school adjustment issues, stress, family change, grief, fears, or difficulties with friendships. Having support through difficult times can be essential to a child’s educational success. I will be meeting with students individually, conducting classroom lessons, meeting with parents, collaborating with teachers and staff, and consulting with community organizations to benefit and meet the needs of all Colter students.
