Today TCSD announced the resignation of Assistant Superintendent Jeff Daugherty after four years of service. Jeff has accepted the position of Planning and Construction Program Administrator for Laramie County School District #1 in Cheyenne. He will remain with TCSD through mid-August.
In announcing his resignation Mr. Daugherty stated, “I have truly loved my role at TCSD and am proud of what we have accomplished during my tenure. I feel an enormous sense of gratitude for the operations team. I am continuously impressed by their relentless commitment to our students and their families. The district’s operational services are well positioned and prepared to move into the future.” Jeff added, “While I am sad to leave the district and the community, this change will allow me to spend more time with my wife and children while continuing to serve the students of Wyoming. I want to thank the District and the community for the opportunity to serve Jackson Hole students.”
Superintendent Dr. Gillian Chapman thanked Jeff for his years of service, noting that over the last four years Jeff served as the district lead on the construction of Munger Mountain Elementary School, which was completed on time and under budget. Jeff also led the effort to expand JHMS and participated in the construction of the bus shelters near Colter Elementary School and Jackson Hole Middle School. Beyond his indirect support for our students, she noted the direct impacts he had as a defensive line coach for the Broncs.
Chair Betsy Carlin spoke on behalf of the Board of Education, expressing their appreciation for Mr. Daugherty’s dedication and hard work, also noting Jeff’s ability to present complex issues with levity and good humor.
The district wishes Jeff all the best with the transition and in his new role. TCSD is in the process of determining how to address the gap being left with Mr Daugherty’s departure.
