Jackson Hole High School Principal Named 2021-2022 Wyoming Principal of the Year

This morning, in a surprise presentation at Jackson Hole High School, Dr. Scott Crisp was announced as the 2021-2022 Wyoming Principal of the Year by the Wyoming Association of Secondary School Principals.  

2020 Principal of the Year and Wyoming Association of Secondary School Principals president, Jeff Makelky from Big Piney joined Superintendent Dr. Gillian Chapman, teachers and staff from Jackson Hole High School to honor Dr. Crisp.  

Upon receiving this award Dr. Crisp stated, “ I am tremendously grateful for this honor, especially in light of the full realization of the number of outstanding educator leaders we have across the state of Wyoming. Our great school can be attributed to our outstanding staff, students, and positive community support.” 

Superintendent Chapman added, “Dr. Crisp has earned this recognition from Wyoming colleagues for his leadership and innovation throughout his 12 years as Principal at JHHS, a nationally ranked high school.  Dr. Crisp works closely with staff and students to constantly challenge the status quo and creatively address challenges so students are prepared for their futures.” 

 School principals provide academic leadership, supervision of staff and building budget oversight while also promoting strong student and parent relationships.   He/she must also create a strong school culture by working with students, staff and parents to ensure the District’s mission, vision and strategic goals are met and that the school is addressing the needs of its students and the community.

Upon winning the Wyoming Principal of the Year recognition, Dr. Crisp will join each state’s Principal of the year for National Principal of the Year which is awarded by the National Association of Secondary School Principals.  For more information about the NASSP visit: www.nassp.org/apoy.
