In TCSD, a Guaranteed and Viable Curriculum (GVC) is defined as:

  • A GVC Guarantees that curriculum being taught is curriculum being assessed
  • A GVC is viable when adequate time is ensured to teach all determined essential content, skills, and standards.

  • Curriculum is dynamic and includes processes for adoption and adaptation.
  • Curriculum is based upon educational research and provides challenging opportunities for growth and achievement.
  • Curriculum is aligned, intentional, coherent, and carefully curated for rich vocabulary and content knowledge gain within and across grades
  • Culturally responsive and sensitive to diverse viewpoints, perspectives and learning needs.
