English Language Development (ELD)
TCSD’s English Language Development (ELD) program provides targeted support for students who are developing proficiency in English. The program offers both designated ELD—focused instruction in English language skills—and integrated ELD, where language development is embedded in core academic classes.
ELD specialists collaborate closely with classroom teachers to ensure that Multilingual Learners have access to rigorous academic content while building their English skills. Through a combination of small group instruction, classroom support, and ongoing assessment, the ELD program helps students succeed academically, develop confidence, and become active participants in our diverse school community.
HOW TO QUALIFY FOR THE ELD PROGRAM

By the time of enrollment your indicated that your home language is other than English.

The ELD Specialist conducted an English proficiency screener and your students demonstrated the need of support in reading, writing, speaking, or listening in English.

After qualifying for ELD services, your student's English language development will be reevaluated every year until he/she is ready to exit the program.
English Language Development (ELD) is a legal right for students who are learning English. According to federal and state laws, all schools must provide ELD services to ensure that students have full and meaningful access to academic education.

Al registrar a su estudiante usted indico que se habla Español en casa.

La especialista de ELD hace un examen de Ingles a su estudiante y su estudiante demuestra la necesidad de apoyo para leer, escribir, hablar, o escuchar en Ingles.

Luego de calificar para los servicios, el desarrollo del idioma Ingles de su estudiante sera re-evaluado cada año hasta que este listo para salir del programa.
El desarrollo del inglés (ELD) es un derecho legal para los estudiantes que están aprendiendo inglés. Según las leyes federales y estatales, todas las escuelas deben proporcionar servicios de ELD para asegurar que los estudiantes tengan acceso pleno y significativo a la educación académica
