Student Meal Support
2024-2025 SCHOOL YEAR
School lunch and breakfast has RETURNED back to normal with free, reduced, and paid categories.
Starting September 2024, NO MEALS ARE AUTOMATICALLY FREE unless a HOUSEHOLD QUALIFIES FOR FREE/REDUCED PROGRAM THROUGH THE APPLICATION PROCESS. Recognizing that student(s) meal costs can be an added cost and burden to households in Teton County. TCSD#1 has partnered with the Fund For Public Education and created a wonderful meal scholarship program called Feeding The Whole.
The Fund for Public Education
With the loss of the federal waiver supporting free meals to all students unless qualified for Free/Reduced, districts across the nation are witnessing the impacts of these changes. At TCSD1, we have implemented a policy where will not turn any student away from a compliant reimbursable meal. We do not allow a la carte, seconds or snacks on negative balances.
Our Core Belief is that all TCSD students should be provided with with a meal regardless of qualifications yet with this we have noticed a great increase in meal debt which ultimately affects the Food Program.
We are fortunate to have partnered with The Fund for Public Education to combat these impacts on households across the entire Teton County.
Their Mission:
The Fund for Public Education raises funds and provides resources for whole-child wellness, educational equity, academic opportunities, leadership development, and district capacity in Teton County, Wyoming public schools
Their Vision:
Every child in Teton County, Wyoming has an equal opportunity for an extraordinary public education.
