TCSD Announces Incoming Kindergarten Screening and Registration Dates

Preparing to send your child to kindergarten is an exciting time, but can also be a little overwhelming.  TCSD #1 is committed to ensuring that every family has the information they need to make the transition as smooth and exciting as possible.

What you need to know:

To enroll in kindergarten in Teton County School District #1, students must be five years old by September 15th, complete a kindergarten round up screening, and parents/guardians must complete a registration packet.

TCSD #1 includes seven elementary schools serving students in kindergarten through 5th grade.  The schools are Jackson, Colter, Kelly, Munger Mountain, Moran, Wilson and Alta. The school your child attends depends on where you live, unless he or she is enrolled in the Dual Language Program at Munger Mountain Elementary.  Information about school attendance areas is available on the school district’s transportation page (under the Departments header) at

To support families through this process, TCSD #1 elementary schools are offering a variety of opportunities to learn all you need to know about enrollment.  Information about completing the registration materials will be provided during the parent information nights outlined on the reverse side of this letter.

What is the kindergarten round up screening?

The  screening process helps determine kindergarten readiness, language proficiency, and class placement. Hearing and vision screenings are also conducted.  The online registration process, including submission of all paperwork, should be complete prior to your child participating in a screening.

Provided at the school your child will attend; these sessions offer important information to parents whose children will be entering kindergarten in the fall of 2020.

What if I want my child to attend Munger Mountain Elementary?  For families interested in enrolling their student in the dual immersion program, please attend the information night in your child’s attendance area.  You will also need to attend the mandatory dual immersion orientation night (April 9th) at Munger Mountain Elementary.
