10-21-19 newsletter

This week, in math you will find us continuing to work on fractions. In writing, memoirs will be our focus for the next few weeks. In ELA we are continuing our study of human rights, applying what we have learned so far, to the novel Esperanza Rising. Be sure to ask your child about it! In science, we will be finishing up Matter and Energy in Plants and we will then move on to studying Food Webs.

I wanted to mention that if your child is available to attend their conference, I would love for them to be there. I know they are very busy with activities, and if it doesn't work, I understand, but if it does, that would be great.

Upcoming Events:

Thursday: Pumpkin Contest Entries due at 9:00 a.m.

Friday: Halloween Carnival 5:30-7:00 Don't forget that the fifth grade is in charge of supplying cakes/cupcakes  THANKS to those of you who have volunteered!! We couldn't pull this event off with the help of so many people.
