Teton County School District #1 participates in one major test throughout each school year. Home school students are eligible to participate upon request. The WY-TOPP state administered standardized test is given 3 times per year in Grades 3-10, 2 times per year in grades 1-2, and in Spring for Kindergarten. Content areas in WY-TOPP include English language arts and math for grades K-10, writing in grades 3,5,7,9 and science in grades 4,8, and 10.
The design provides information for teachers to make instructional decisions regarding their students throughout the school year. This allows re-teaching within specifics standards focused upon concepts where students need additional opportunities for success. Writing assessments are scored by artificial intelligence. Scoring of math, language arts, and science are done by computer. All scores are available 24 after testing, however growth reports from the Wyoming Department of Education are only available in August of each year.
If you choose to participate in this test, you will be notified in the spring prior to testing to set up the time and place.
