Kindergarten at TCSD

We look forward to welcoming your soon-to-be Kindergartener to our District.

Starting kindergarten represents the start of your child's formal, K-12 education. This is an exciting time but it can also be scary for children and families. We understand this and hope to provide answers to all of your questions on the following pages. Please reach out if you have questions not addressed on these pages.

The State of Wyoming requires students are five (5) by August 1st, of the year they will enroll in kindergarten. If your child’s 5th birthday falls between August 2nd and September 15th 2026, you can participate in an exemption process that may result in your child’s entrance in Kindergarten for the 2026-2027 school year. Click on the Exemption tab to the right to learn more about the exemption process for Kindergarten entry.

Registration is completed exclusively online. Kindergarten Registration for the 2026-2027 school year will open on March 2nd.

TCSD#1 includes seven elementary schools serving students in Kindergarten through fifth grade. The schools are Alta, Colter, Jackson, Kelly, Moran, Munger Mountain, and Wilson.  The school your child attends depends on where you live, unless he or she is enrolled in the Dual Immersion Program at Munger Mountain Elementary.  Information about school attendance areas is available on the school district’s transportation page.
