Substitute Work Information
The work of a substitute teacher is invaluable to Teton County Schools by ensuring that classroom routines as well as day-to-day operations can continue seamlessly as if the employee was there.  Substitutes also allow for the District's instructional staff to attend professional development opportunities where collaboration of ideas and best teaching practices can occur.

How to Become a Substitute...

If you are interested in becoming a substitute teacher, and would like more information regarding substitute teaching in our district, please contact TCSD #1 Substitute Coordinator, Brianne Huggins.  bhuggins@tcsd.org   307-413-5579

If you would like to APPLY to become a substitute teacher, you need to complete the TCSD #1 Employment Application for Substitute Teachers. 

In order to do this, GO to the TCSD #1 Employment webpage (tcsd.org).

  • Click on District Information  => Employment  => Substitute Teacher Employment Process. 
  • FOLLOW the 5-Step Process for becoming a certified substitute teacher in TCSD #1.

NOTE:  Once you have completed the TCSD #1 Employment Application (STEP 1) + New Hire Online Paperwork (STEP 2), located on TCSD #1 Employment Webpage, and have initiated your application for a PTSB Substitute Teacher Certification Permit (STEP 3), you will be ADDED to the New Substitute Orientation & Training list for the 2024-2025 school year. You'll then receive an email inviting you to participate in the next New Substitute Orientation/Training Session.
