2.  Only those persons identified on the "emergency card" may pick up a student (i.e. parents or adults whose names that have been listed as contacts in case of an emergency).
3.  Pick up students at school Student Release Area.  You will be notified of the locations via School Messenger.
4.  Students at all grade levels are to remain at school until parents or their designee arrives.
5.  Students are to remain in the bus if a crisis occurs during transportation time (i.e. a safe delivery site will be determined and parents notified).
6.  Plan ahead - discuss a family plan with your children.

It is advisable that all parents contact their school office to establish emergency contact information regarding your child prior to an emergency.

SCHOOL CLOSURE INFORMATION:

TCSD #1 PROTOCOLS FOR SCHOOL CLOSING OR DELAYED OPENING

Notification of school closings or delayed openings will be communicated via Swift Notification System, TCSD website, Facebook and local radio stations.

SCHOOL CLOSINGS

Due to severe weather and/or hazardous road conditions, schools may delay opening, release early or close for the entire day.  The decision is made district-wide and applies to all schools.  Outlying schools (Alta, Kelly, Moran or Wilson Elementary Schools) may be an exception due to their location and separate operations.

TEMPERATURE COLDER THAN -20 DEGREES

When temperatures reach -20oF at the transportation office, the Superintendent, the Transportation Director and other staff will confer on whether it is safe to open the schools.  When temperatures  reach -25oF school will likely be on a 2-hour delayed start.  Factors considered in making this decision include whether or not the buses will start and if any of the school systems are not working properly.  The final decision will be made by the Superintendent and communicated to families by 6:00am the morning of the school day in question.

LATE ARRIVAL/2-HOUR DELAYED OPENING

Schools may delay opening by 2-hours due to a large amount of snow fall, black ice, or other severe conditions.  All busses will run on their regular schedule/stops 2 hours later than normal time.  All personnel will report 20 minutes before the delayed school day is scheduled to start.  All administration will report at their regularly schedule time.

Any family who feels it is unsafe for their student to attend school due to the weather conditions may contact their student's school to excuse them for the day or for a late arrival.
